Defections Shake Up Climate Coalition

In the meantime, Wall Street Journal has reported that three big companies have withdrawn from an influential lobbying group focused on shaping climate change legislation in the United States. In the latest sign that indicates support for an ambitious bill is fast melting away, oil giants, BP PLC and ConocoPhillips, together with heavy equipment maker, Caterpillar, said they would not renew their membership in the three-year old US climate Action Partnership. The coalition had been instrumental in building support in Washington for capping emissions of greenhouses gases – even at outrageous costs, while glaring evidences show up almost everyday the entire enterprise was being built on false scientific premises.
