President
Muhammadu Buhari confirmed the strong influence of global governance in
Nigerian politics when he ascribed his removal from office in the August 1985 coup
to his refusal to follow the economic prescriptions of the World Bank and the
IMF. Incredibly, he said the man who
sacked him, General Ibrahim Babangida (IBB) actually discussed the coup with
him ahead of execution in his office. IBB of course, after taking over the
government, went the whole hog with the IMF and World Bank in his infamous
Structural Adjustment Programme, SAP. Certainly, when it comes to governance,
there is much more to issues, than what meet the regular eye! [http://thenationonlineng.net/removed-1985-ignoring-imf-world-bank-advice-buhari/]
The pertinent
question however is, why is PMB now making this revelation at this time – at a Regimental Dinner by the Guards Brigade where he was also presented with the captured Boko Haram flag? Hopefully he is not sensing that history could
repeat itself should he choose to again defy the globalists! This is the explanation offered by the
President: “As a civilian
president I will do my best and I’m telling you all
these because you are part of the leadership of this great country and God
willing we will remain great.”
