1. The Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) has been PROSCRIBED in the developed nations - for decades! Polio is addressed in those nations using the Inactivated Polio Vaccine (IPV)
2. The reason for this proscription is that the use of OPV is GUARANTEED to result in more polio cases.
3. Furthermore, it is established that,down the line, 15 - 30 years after the administration of the OPV, there is the possibility of a wide-spectrum debilitating condition known as “post-polio syndrome”.
4. Consequently, there is a GLOBAL OUTRAGE against the continued use of the OPV, in a few “developing” countries, notably Nigeria.
5. By May 2012, there had been a global consensus (including from the World Health Assembly) that the OPV must be phased-out from every nation.
6. Nigeria made some early moves to comply with this in 2015
7. However it stopped the move, and was “encouraged” to try another version of OPV, the genetically-modified nOPV, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

9. Both the Gates Foundation, and a number of African countries have freely admitted this awful reality

10. Public health authorities in Nigeria, however, continue to stick their head in the sand, and ignoring these basic deadly realities, continue to administer OPV to tens of millions of Nigeria;s children. Procurement costs tens of billions of naira annually.
