EDITORIAL: CA! Now to be published Quarterly

For a while, the paper version of CA! has not come out.  This is due to a combination of factors.  Apart from the usual spiritual challenges, which we all know will only intensify as the Day approaches, there have been other challenges/restraints.  As many of us are now aware,  CA! is essentially one man sharing his perspectives and encouragements with fellow Christian brothers and sisters.  As we understand it, these perspectives are to be those of a “normal” (as Watchman Nee would probably say), regular Christian, conscious of the end times.  This entails having a credible engagement in the market place, and a regular commitment in a local church.  In other words, CA!, at least for now, is not meant to be a “full-time” engagement in the usual sense of the expression.

While this position has clearly helped our perspectives to be broad and balanced (we preach what we experience and practice), it also has inevitable strong implications on the time resources available to us.  Therefore when sometimes in December last year, the Lord impressed it upon my heart to prepare and present my professorial inaugural lecture at the University where I work (within a five-month period), together with an ordered compilation of past editions of CA! into three volumes, it was inevitable that the regular production of  Church Arise! would be affected – both due to time and financial factors.

The LORD has been most wonderful in His faithfulness.  The inaugural lecture has been successfully prepared and delivered (on April 9, 2013), and the Trilogy (Behold I come quickly) launched on the same day.  However, while the paper version of CA! was inevitably affected by these special assignments, the real kernel of CA! continued on-line on the internet.  For instance, though we were not able to come out with a print version of the last edition for last year (Vol 15 No 6), it is available on our website for free download as usual.  Likewise, since the beginning of this year, though no volume has been compiled, we continue to post relevant articles onto our blog (www.churcharise\blogspot.com).  We are grateful to God for the several thousand visitors to these on-line resources, though we are aware that several of our high-prized readers do not really have time or inclination to go on-line to pick their information!

Now that the special projects are concluded, we are compiling these online articles into regular newsletter versions, even as back issues.  However, the future of communication is Internet, and to ensure sustainability of both the paper and on-line media - within the context of resources available to us, we have come to the conclusion to revise the periodicity of the newsletter from bi-monthly, to quarterly.  This means the newsletter will now be prepared only four times in a year, instead of the six times we have prepared it yearly from 1998 to 2012.  We will however put more focus on online resources, and will increase the frequency of updating these resources.  The newsletter will be summaries of key articles from both our website and in particular the blog.

Ancient Egyptian Statue Mysteriously Rotates at Museum

An ancient Egyptian statue at the Manchester Museum, England, made the headlines after it was captured on video seemingly rotating on its own. The museum curator, Campbell Price had wondered who had changed the statues position in its locked glass case; but a while later he observed that the orientation had changed yet again.  He decided to set up a camera, which consequently captured the statue doing a major turn around over an 11-hour period.

While some physicists have been invited to study the phenomenon, preliminary reasonings are that the rotation might be as a result of subtle vibrations, especially since, as someone observed, "the statue only seems to spin during the day when people are in the museum."

The statue, made from serpentine, shows what is likely an official with "priestly duties," according to Price, wearing a shoulder-length wig and knee-length kilt.  The hieroglyphs on the back of the statue spell out, "bread, beer and beef," a "prayer for offerings for the spirit of the man," Price told the Sun. http://gma.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs/ancient-egyptian-statue-mysteriously-rotates-museum-141331675.html

A scientific reason may well be found for this, or it may reflect the  increasingly more conducive environment for manifestation of demonic powers as the end-time clock approaches midnight.  One thing is sure however, this is NOT the first recorded instance of a religious image moving as it were, on its own.  Read the story of Dagon before the ark of the LORD in I Samuel 5: 2-4.

The murder of polio immunization officials

THE barbaric brutal murder of nine polio immunisation officials, most likely by some Boko Haram group of murderers in Kano State is an unfortunate incident which has taken the vaccine debate to a whole new level.  The other time in Malawi, as we pointed out in Vol 14 No 2, it was government officials that was forcing people to receive their (measle) vaccine – at gun point!  Now, it has gone the other way.

One thing all these have confirmed is that the vaccine issue is more than an academic debate, but one that both sides of the divide feel extremely strongly about. 

As polio vaccine advocates seize the moment to demonize everybody asking critical questions concerning the Bill Gates sponsored project, we will like to re-state our position and repeat two basic questions.  (For goodwill sake, we’ll prefer to accept WHO’s explanation that the levels of the anti-fertility chemical, oestrogen,  reportedly found by sceptical Islamic scientists in samples of vaccines brought to Kano in 2004, were contaminations inadvertently introduced and occurring at levels lower than that ordinarily found in breast milk, see CA! vol 7 no 2, and vol 13 no 2).  Here are the basic questions still begging for answers:

One, how do figures of incidents of wild polio that so much efforts and money is being expended on, compare with figures of polio that is known to be associated with the (massive) administration of the polio vaccine itself ?  As we pointed out in Vol 14 No 4, a significant number of children are guaranteed to contact the polio virus from the very vaccine they are given.  Figures of risk of a normal child contacting polio strictly from the oral vaccine itself range from 1 per 750,000 (www.chop.edu/service/vaccine-education-center/a-look-at-each-vaccine/polio-vaccine.html), 1 per million (www.usatoday.com/news/world/2009), or 1 per 2.4 million (www.babycenter.com/0_the-polio-vaccine_1566.bc).  All these figures are cited by strongly pro-vaccine lobbies. Underscoring the gravity of the matter, a special report in the USA Today concluded:  “Nigeria's vaccine-linked outbreak underlines the need to stop using the oral polio vaccine as soon as possible, since it can create the very epidemics it was designed to stop, experts say. WHO is researching other vaccines that might work better, but none is on the horizon.” http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/2009.  To worsen matters, several children are repeatedly administered with the oral polio vaccine at home, church/mosque, school, market place, etc thus increasing the likelihood of incidents of vaccine-linked polio!  Another unanswered simple question related to the above is why is the vaccine being used in Nigeria and other developing countries different from the ones being used in developed countries such as America?  The vaccines used in Nigeria for instance is known to be preserved in thimerosal, containing 49.55% by weight, highly toxic Mercury, which is deadly to babies. (see relevant information at  www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=49094).  This is a vaccine that cannot be administered in the United States!

CA! sincerely commiserates with the Federal Ministry of Health (and particular the families of the innocent people involved) on the gruesome murder of its personnel.  But it is never too late that the Ministry in charge of the nation’s health begins to ask relevant questions.
