I found this recent post by Chris Onayinka of Chris Onayinka Ministries (a.k.a. Saints Community church) quite intriguing, and frankly surprising.
He writes, in part:
“You can't walk in Gods plan for your life when surrounded with foolish people
Sycophants will destroy you .
Flatterers too.
Much more those who peddle false doctrine”
False doctrine? I couldn’t but post this response on his Facebook page!

What, with his antecedent (or rather, notoriety)!
For example, he teaches "confession of sins" is mentioned in the NT only in 1 Jn 1:9.
(see Onayinka 2017: The Hyper Grace Gospel of Christ, pg 176 –
183)
This is factually false: How about James 5:16? Luke 11:4 (the Lord's Prayer), etc,?
Worse he says even 1 Jn 1:9, does not mean to acknowledge one's
sin (not to talk of asking forgiveness or forsaking them). He began to do
abracadabra with Greek and punctuations!
How can a man who so very directly muddles up the foremost doctrine in the Bible: Repentance (see Heb. 6:1), how can he be warning against FALSE DOCTRINE?
What then do we make of the numerous calls to “Repent” made by
the Lord in the closing book of the Bible, the book of Revelations?
That Christ Onayinka would be bold to be warning people against FALSE TEACHERS is really a telling sign of the end-times!"
However, I am in total agreement with Chris Onayinka in his recommendation. He boldly counsels:
"Do a company check today,
Who are those you have surrounded your life with ?
It's better one true friend ,than a thousand flatterers or
sycophants or false teachers .
