Right from the
days of Moses, Joshua, David et al, in the Bible the nation of Israel had
gotten used to seeing spectacular divine interventions on her behalf. As readily demonstrated in several tomes and
DVDs, even in our modern times, there has been no let up in the copious showers
of miracles by the Almighty to protect and preserve the seed of Abraham. According to Rev. 12: 6, 14-16, these divine
interventions are guaranteed to continue into the future – even in the days of
the Antichrist. And of course, the
mother of all interventions will be at Armageddon.
According to Ben
Gurion, even while Israel must plan and work as if miracles don’t exist, yet
it is plain realism to accept that miracles will occur when they need to. In his words: ‘In Israel, in order to be a
realist, you must believe in miracles.’
The just
concluded 50-day war has been another opportunity for God to show how faithful
He is to His covenants, and how He laughs at the rage of the nations who have thought to “take God’s
heritage for a possession”.
In the article cited
below,
a Hamas terrorist lamented that it is not that their rocket-men were that
incompetent; that none of the thousands of rockets successfully deployed from
Gaza could have landed in downtown Tel Aviv, and cause some notable
casualty. In his explanation, the God of
Israel was diverting the missiles mid-air!
And for those
thinking this to be some lame excuse to cover crass-incompetence, the testimony
of an Israeli operator of the protective Iron-dome should make one think
again. He actually saw a gust of east wind
suddenly develope to divert an incoming missile into the sea. The event occurred with just a few seconds to
the rocket reaching target and cause mass casualty - with the iron-dome defenses having failed
twice to intercept it! In his
own words:
“We fired the
first [interceptor]. It missed. Second [interceptor]. It missed. This is very
rare. I was in shock. At this point we had just four seconds until the missile
lands. We had already notified emergency services to converge on the target
location and had warned of a mass-casualty incident. Suddenly, Iron Dome (which calculates wind
speeds, among other things) shows a major wind coming from the east, a strong
wind that … sends the missile into the sea. We were all stunned. I stood up and
shouted, ‘There is a God!’…“I witnessed this miracle with my own eyes. It was
not told or reported to me. I saw the hand of God send that missile into the
sea.”
In any case,
even if based on pure random statistics,
out of almost three
thousand rockets fired, one or two
ought to have had a blind lucky strike on some important target in Israel. As a matter of fact, there were a few reports
of the equally statistically-expected opposite, “friendly fire” situation, where rockets
from Gaza crashed on Palestinian’s own power infrastructure, or
hospital
and refugee camps!
This sparing of
Israel, contrary to all statistical expectations reminds of the promise in Psa.
91:7 “a thousand may fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand, but
it shall not come nigh thee” – only the Almighty can confidently offer such a
proposition!

of these and other miracles admitted by awe-stricken Israeli commanders in the
