ISLAM-INSPIRED KILLINGS IN NIGERIA FOR FOURTH QUARTER 2023

Sadly, in the last quarter of 2023, there were 63 Islam-inspired killings documented for Nigeria.  Six hundred and forty-three (643) human beings were gruesomely killed in these pre-meditated attacks, while at least four hundred and fifty-seven (457) others were reported injured.  The latest was on the 30^th December where a father and his son were killed at Shere district in Plateau state. Perhaps even more saddening was the statement by the Sultan of Sokoto (the spiritual head of Islam in Nigeria), referring to the latest set of killings (almost 200 people at Christmas) as “Clashes”.  He further linked the events with the bombing of a moslem community at Tudun Biri (Kaduna state) by the Nigerian Army! https://dailytrust.com/plateau-killings-bandits-always-step-ahead-of-govt-sultan/

In the meantime, we urge that the Christian Association of Nigeria should lead the clamour for State Policing NOW, towards a comprehensive review of the dubious 1999 constitution we are currently saddled with.
