As
an expanded follow-up to the Yoruba Christian Leaders Assembly meetings of 2014
and 2016, the Africa leadership Summit (ALS) held 20-21st July, 2018
under the serene ambience of Mt Carmel,
Ifewara, Osun State. Well over a hundred delegates mostly from South West
Nigeria participated in the high-impact 24-hour meeting.
The
Convener and main speaker, Pastor Segun Olanipekun (supported by his wife,
Pastor Rachael) from the Institute of Christian Leadership Development (ICLD),
Pretoria, South Africa spoke extensively on the Christian role, indeed
responsibilities, in nation building. He
also expounded on the two tools for nation-building which God has made
available through the ICLD, viz the City Builders Network, and African-Israel
Chamber of Commerce (AICC).
Earlier
(on Thursday 19th July) Pastor Segun had an extensive interaction
with the Association of Born-Again Kings and Obas in Yorubaland (AOBACO) at the
palace of the Olufi of Gbongan. A good
part of the discussions addressed the possibilities of providing the domains of
these Christian monarchs with linkages to development Partners in Israel under
the aegis of the AICC.
There
was a spontaneous hour-long exchange between Pastor Segun and the Adimula of
Ifewara, Oba Hezekiah Owolola
during what was meant to be a simple courtesy visit to the palace before the
ALS on Friday 20th July.
Clips from that epic interaction will be posted online in due course. We pray the almighty God would bless these
efforts and accomplish His counsel even as we await the close of all
things. If the Lord tarries, the
biennial Jerusalem meeting of the ALS will be holding in the second half of 2019. For information on this and the AICC, please
