Revealed: Israel agreed to forfeit Temple Mount

Even while Israeli Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert continues to deny that he has agreed to relinquish Israel’s sovereignty over the Temple Mount (the holiest place in Judaism), and a chief Palestinian negotiator (speaking anonymously with WND) insisting that Olmert was lying; recently declassified documents made public on December 13, have shown that Israel had actually declared it was not so interested in controlling the Temple Mount since 2000! According to the documents, as reported by the WND, then Prime Minister, Ehud Barak, agreed at the Camp David meeting that the “sovereignty over the Temple Mount would be either "ambiguous" or control would be determined based on the bond of each party to the site. The Palestinians would therefore control the upper sections of the Mount, which houses the Al Aqsa Mosque and also is the site of the First and Second Jewish Temples”. In the last edition of CA!, we showed that the real struggle in Israel is between the secular left and the religious right. The secular left (the group wielding political power at the moment) has little qualms in giving over religious sites in its effort to break the backbone of the religious right. The Arabs seem the lesser evil in the coming global government plan!
According to the anonymous negotiator, Olmert position at the Annapolis meeting last November is that Israel would evacuate the Mount but not to turn it over to the Palestinians alone. The negotiator said both sides agreed, the Temple Mount would be given to joint Egypt, Jordan and PA control.
Despite harsh criticism from ministers regarding the results of the Annapolis peace summit, the Israeli Cabinet has eventually decided to support agreements reached regarding final-status negotiations with Palestinians (www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3478031,00.html). Olmert had consistently insisted that failure to negotiate a two-state solution with the Palestinians would spell the end of the State of Israel.
